Meet Nolan Tomlinson: our Investment Operations Assistant and 'national park enthusiast' of FSB Premier Wealth Management.
Nolan has been working in his role since March 2021, and has quickly caught on to the daily ins and outs of FSB Premier. He enjoys working with his very friendly and knowledgeable staff members, and continues to learn more about the products and services. Recently, Nolan passed the Iowa Health Insurance License exam and is working toward becoming a fully-certified financial planner.
His passion for helping others create financial plans started while in the service. After graduating high school, Nolan decided to enlist in the military -- more specifically, the Marines, since he saw more challenging opportunities in growth and leadership development than other branches. During this time, he applied his financial management skills toward helping other Marines set goals and create budgets. He enjoyed the satisfaction they received from not being tied down by the mismanagement of their earnings.
Once he returned home from the Marines, Nolan pursued his passion by attending the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) and earning a bachelor or arts in finance and real estate, graduating in December 2020. Through college he met his wife Heidi, a former UNI Women's Basketball player. Heidi and Nolan both shared their love for the outdoors and traveling to new places around the world. He mentions that Heidi never really visited the mountains or dabbled in camping due to her busy basketball schedule.
Nolan has always been fascinated with the outdoors. Growing up on an acreage near Hudson, he was used to working and being outside quite frequently. While in the service, he developed a lot of his backpacking skills and love for the mountains. Because of this, Nolan and Heidi have both made it their goal to visit every national park in the U.S. together. Their most recent trip, their honeymoon, was spent visiting Glacier National Park in Montana. Besides national parks, Nolan enjoys all that northeast Iowa has to offer. Some of his favorite places include Back Bone State Park, Pikes Peak, the trails around Decorah, and the river area along Prairie du Chien.
Through discipline and preparedness, Nolan has found success in his life, and that carries over to his philosophy for finding financial success. Whether it be accumulation, retirement, or establishing a legacy, having plans put in place makes managing your finances much easier. FSB Premier is excited for Nolan to use his knowledge and help people set their goals for what's next in their lives.
Life's an adventure -- with Nolan, you can be best prepared for what's to come.
